Mission

The Merrimack Parents' Council provides a forum to solicit the suggestions and support of the parents of current students of the College. Parents are invited to join the Council to get involved with the College and to connect with fellow parents. The Parents' Council meets twice a year, fall and spring, for college updates and discussions with senior-level administrators.

About The Parents' Council

The Merrimack Parents’ Council is an organization of parents whose children are enrolled at or have graduated from Merrimack College. The Council seeks opportunities to connect parents with parents and to involve all parents in the life of the college in ways that will be helpful to the students. Principal among such efforts is participation in Parents’ Weekend, career networking and mentoring, leadership in supporting the Parents' Fund, and by supporting the students in their cultural, volunteer, religious and athletic activities.

An Invitation

In the Augustinian tradition we invite and encourage you to become active members of the Merrimack College community. St. Augustine urged us to grow through knowledge to wisdom. Wisdom is knowledge transformed by love. Good community is essential to good education.

The Parents' Council seeks to be helpful to our students:

  • By participating in the Homecoming/Family Weekend, Fall New Student Orientation, Receptions for accepted students and their parents, and Spring Freshmen Orientation. Parents appreciate opportunities to communicate with parents.
  • By participating in the Annual Career Night and sharing your professional experiences and insights with students exploring career options.
  • By encouraging our students in their cultural, volunteer, religious and athletic activities. In addition to moral support, there is the occasional need for resources and chaperones.
  • By participating in phone-a-thons to help raise money for the Parents' Fund for the college.

Your questions, input and support are sincerely appreciated. Please contact us.
