Applying to Merrimack

Prospective freshmen, transfer, and international students can now apply online to Merrimack College!

  • The freshman application deadline for the EARLY ACTION program is November 15.
  • The freshman application deadline for REGULAR admission program is February 1.
  • The transfer application deadline is December 1 for the spring semester and July 1 for the fall semester.

Attention Freshman Applicants

Merrimack College only accepts the Common Application for first-year applicants applying to Merrimack. In addition to the Common Application, we require applicants to complete a short supplement form available on the Common Application website or to be downloaded on the right. Both the Common Application and the supplement can be submitted to Merrimack College electronically.

We recommend that you be prepared to respond to all questions as completely as possible once you begin the application process. You will need the following information available as you proceed with your online application:

  • Secondary school (high school) name(s) and College Board code number
  • date(s) SAT or ACT taken/to be taken (optional)
  • College/University name(s), College Board code number(s) and dates of attendance (transfer applicant)
  • date(s) TOEFL or CLEP taken/to be taken (if applicable)
  • your social security number, or Resident Alien number

You will also be asked to prepare an application essay.

In order to complete the online application, payment of an application fee is required.

  • The admission application fee for entering freshmen is $60.00;
  • The application fee for transfer students is $50.00. Payment can be made by credit card online for transfer students only at http://www.merrimack.edu/apppay. The transfer online application is for enrollment as a DAY student (full-or-part time) only. Contact the Continuing Education Department at 978-837-5101 for evening enrollment.

Completing your Application

In order for a freshman application to be considered complete, the following items are required:

  • Application and $60.00 application fee
  • High school transcripts (including 1st quarter grades)
  • SAT or ACT scores (optional)
  • Letter of recommendation (1)
  • College essay
  • U.S. Permanent Residents are required to submit a photocopy (both sides) of Alien Registration card

In order for an international application to be considered complete, you must follow the requirements as stated above for freshmen or transfers (Note: All documents must be translated into English where applicable). The following items are also required:

  • Completed certificate of Finances or Notorized Bank Statement which certifies amount of funds on deposit/available for education in the U.S. for one year of study.
  • Test of English proficiency for applicant for whom English is not his/her native language. TOEFL or IELTS official score report required.

Attention Transfer Applicants

Merrimack College accepts transfer students for incoming Spring/January 2009 semester and incoming Fall 2009 semester.
