Faculty Profile

Michael J. Rossi (professor, Ph.D. University of Illinois) teaches composition, business writing and technical writing. His courses typically include use of technology and engagement of students in peer and workshop activities. Dr. Rossi has directed the Writing Center and has served as chair of the English Department and president of the Faculty Senate. He is currently the dean of Liberal Arts. In addition to maintaining a research interest in representations of autobiographical truth, he is currently investigating developments in visual rhetoric. A frequent presenter of papers and workshops at regional and national writing conferences, Dr. Rossi is also the author of James Herriot: A Critical Companion. In 2005 Dr. Rossi and Dr. Kathleen Shine Cain were selected by the National Conference on Peer Tutoring in Writing as joint recipients of the Ron Maxwell Award for distinguished leadership.
