What professional associations are related to the Marketing concentrate?

The largest and most concentrated professional association for all business students is the American Marketing Association which has over 10,000 collegiate members and 25,000 professional members.  Merrimack College is proud to have had a participating collegiate chapter for over 30 years.  Students interested in this active group should contact the faculty advisor, Professor Cathie Rich-Duval, for further information.

What is the typical schedule of marketing (or other department) courses?

Typically, MK300 Applied Strategic Marketing Management is offered every semester,

MK420 Marketing Research is offered in the fall semester, and MK498 Marketing Seminar (Senior Capstone Course) is offered in the spring semester (and opened only to seniors).

Who do I talk with if I am interested in setting up an internship for credit? 

The coordinator of internships in the Girard School of Business and International Commerce is Professor Richard DelGaudio.

Can I have two concentrations in business?

Students choose one concentration in business and can not “double concentrate.”  However, business students can adopt a minor outside of the business school.  Many Marketing concentrates choose varying major/minor combinations, such as marketing and psychology, marketing and sociology, marketing and chemistry, marketing and foreign language.

Who do I talk with if I am interested in learning about opportunities to study abroad?

The coordinator of international business that assists in study abroad opportunities for the business school is Dr. Deborah Litvin.

I’m thinking about taking a course at another school.  Can it transfer over to Merrimack College to fulfill one of my requirements?

Before taking a course at another college, this must be pre-approved within the respective department.  You will need the course description and further information from the transferring school.
