Job Description:

The Girard School of Business & International Commerce at Merrimack College invites applicants to fill a tenure track assistant professor of Sport Management position for the fall 2010. The position will remain open until filled.

Qualifications
An earned doctorate or appropriate terminal degree in sport management or related field required.  Consideration will be given to ABD applicants close to completion of degree. Candidates should have a proven record of excellence in teaching as well as ongoing research and publications.  Professional experience working in the sports industry is a plus.

Responsibilities:
Teaching undergraduate courses in several areas to include introduction to sport management, sport finance, sport marketing, sport facility and event management, legal aspects of sport management, and placement and supervision of sport management interns. Additional responsibilities include assisting with student advisement, department assessment, and program accreditation and development.  Substantial involvement in scholarly activity and university service is also expected.
