Assistant V.P. of Institutional Advancement Named
James P. Dennis has been appointed as assistant vice president of institutional advancement at Merrimack College.
In his new position, Dennis will work closely with the vice president of institutional advancement to cultivate, solicit and steward gifts to the College as well as identify and implement strategies that will ensure fundraising success.
Dennis returns to Merrimack after serving at Salem State College for eight years in the roles of director of gift and estate planning, executive director of development and alumni affairs, and executive director of leadership gifts. Previously he had been a member of Merrimack’s advancement team from 1997-2001, playing a key role in the College’s largest ever capital campaign which raised $42 million.
He is a 1989 graduate from Merrimack College having earned a BSBA with a concentration in marketing. He has been a member of the Lynn Council of the Knights of Columbus for more than 20 years, a CCD teacher, a soloist at various parishes on the North Shore and Merrimack Valley, and is a member of Catholic Charities, North and has produced and performed many charitable concerts. He currently resides in Swampscott, Mass.
